The other evening I was out enjoying a game of rummy and an adult beverage with my husband at the local dive bar. We were engaged in our very competitive game when two lovely mid 20’s ladies walked into the bar. Now imagine the typical dive bar. People come after work, dirty. People come dressed up to meet up with friends. It’s one end of the spectrum to the other. On this particular day, about 5:30pm the bar is filled mostly with men. If I were to guess, they are having a beer before going home. The conversations are typically filled with politics, events in their lives, sarcasm, jokes and laughs. This evening wasn’t any different. Until.
The two ladies walk in. The first with long, dark hair, simple summer attire of a white lacy tank top and simple black shorts. The second lady, enhanced in the chest area, long blonde hair and again simple attire. Green tummy, tank top and a black maxi skirt. Both dressed simple and nice. The energy quickly changed and they had the unwanted spot light. As they sat down at the bar, the very wise, observant bar tender noticed the energy shift. She made their drinks and treated them “normal” asking them the typical questions. “How are you?” “What are you drinking?”.
As the two ladies sat there and talked, three older men in particular, were making little comments about how pretty they were. I watched them, watch these ladies. It made me realize…we have an invisible essence, that is powerful, and can be used for so much good! We should be using it more.
One of the men couldn’t resists, he stood and cut into their conversation asking about their husbands, where they work and such. It appeared as if he was wanting a piece of their essence. Just for a moment, to feel what they were naturally expressing. With grace, these women had a few laughs and entertained his conversation. He was filling his cup. That is femininity, that is power.
This is one reason why, as women, we need to come out of our past traumas flourishing so we can lead. It may seem silly I am comparing what I witnessed in the bar to life, but here we are. I am. This is the simplest of settings for such power to be witnessed. When we acknowledge the Goddess attributes within us and stand in that everyday, it spills out of us. It is worth the work to develop ourselves. The Goddess in us knows how to lead, love, create, nurture, build, collaborate, communicate and develop cohesion between and among people. We know how to war as well, but that is not where we go first. We go to the heart first.
Ladies! Today, acknowledge a Goddess attribute that you can demonstrate today. Let that be present in your mind as you go throughout your day. Then ask yourself, did your essence spill over and alter the energy? Was your goodness felt before you ever said a word? Let’s develop our Goddess and change our lives and the people around us.
